When we associate with devotees we slowly-slowly get to know about their great qualities and thus we give our envious nature.
If somebody praises us and if we have any humility we will feel totally like a fool.
A humble sincere offering for the upliftment of humanity and the service of God will please God more than great unbelievable projects created for money and prestige. A simple, devotional character is what God ultimately sees.
What touches our hearts and impresses us deeper is sacrifice and humility, when we see someone accept the higher principle of cooperation, putting aside his/her own achievements.
Whoever we are, wherever we are, however we are, whatever our condition is, there is no impediment to attaining the perfection of life–if we are humble & sincere.
Our inner depth should be as much as the ocean, so we are not fazed by the external praise or criticism. For that, we must truly do work that is meaningful to us, have love in our heart for others and help people. And when we achieve inner depth, the external world’s rewards won’t matter to us as much.
To live a life of substance we must be willing to maintain the ideals in all circumstances.
A person is judged by his or her ideal. The ideal we have established in life is the substance of what we are.
