A devotee likes to be always at the feet of the Lord and other devotees, but for service he is ready to take a position higher than them-just as Govardhana did in this pastime of lifting Govardhana.

Rupa Gosvami has recommended to reside at Radha-kunda, but Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura said (following the prayer of Raghunatha dasa Gosvami) that it is better that I reside at Govardhana. I shall serve the devotees who are serving at Radha-kunda, and come back and reside at Govardhana.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says, “You know this—that all living beings subsist on food, and food is produced form rain, and rain comes from yajna, and yajna karma samudbhava: yajna comes when people follow their prescribed duties.” Do more kirtana.

Prabhupada [used to have] big festivals in Hyderabad. And there was a severe drought; for two years they hadn't had any rain. It was hot. So they had big kirtana and had big festival in the city, and in two days there was good rain.
