We become who we associate with, if we associate with pure, simple people struggling to be devotees then slowly we will perfect our path to devotion. but if we associate with material minded people we will be always perplexed and confused to what we are truely seeking.
Character is to be willing to make personal sacrifices for a higher purpose in life.
Integrity is to maintain our ideals and our values even in the face of temptation and fear.
If we actually want spiritual advancement, we have to be willing to perform tapasya to attract the attention of God to show Him we are serious, to show Him that we are depending on His causeless mercy.
