Ignorance

According to the scriptures, our ultimate original enemy is avidya, ignorance. In ignorance, we forget who we are, we forget what our needs are and then we cultivate the wrong desires. This ignorance, like a friend, promises us happiness through sense gratification but all that we have experienced in the end is anxiety,struggle for survival, and fear.
