Awakening Love of God
Love of God is awakened by the association of pure devotees of the Lord.
Pure Devotees
Only those who are pure devotees, those who follow the regulative principles of religious life as prescribed in the scriptures, are able to engage themselves in karma-yoga and then jnana-yoga and thereafter, by pure meditation, can understand pure consciousness. When God consciousness is developed, one can take advantage of the association of pure devotees. Syan mahat-sevaya viprahpunya-tirtha-nisevanat: one is able to associate with the Lord even during the existence of this life.
Effects of Association
If one is in good association he can develop the mode of goodness and if in bad association he may develop the mode of darkness or ignorance.
Remembrance and Prayers
Remembrance and Prayers also can give us the desired result if they are properly done under expert guidance.
Approaching Krishna
In the Brahma-samhita it is said that the Lord is never to be found by becoming a great scholar of the Vedic literatures, but He is very easily approachable through His pure devotees. In Vrindavana all the pure devotees, thus, pray for the mercy of Srimati Radharani, the pleasure potency of Lord Krishna.
Obtaining Krishna
Lord Sri Krishna is the property of His pure unconditional devotees and only the devotees can deliver Krishna to another devotee. Krishna is never obtained directly.
