As rivers flow to their dissolution in the sea, giving up their names and forms at their destination, so the wise man who becomes free from material names and forms attains the Supreme Absolute, the wonderful Personality of Godhead.
Spirit And Matter
Spirit and matter are completely contradictory things. All of us are spiritual entities. We cannot have perfect happiness, which is our birthright, however much we may meddle with the affairs of mundane things. Perfect happiness can be ours only when we are restored to our natural state of spiritual existence.
One Who Has Developed The Ecstasy of Love
Anyone who has developed the ecstasy of love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead and who is always merged in transcendental bliss on account of that love, cannot even perceive the material happiness or distress coming from the body or mind.
Devotional Service
From association with devotees is born faith. From faith is born pure knowledge. From pure knowledge is born meditation. From meditation is born devotional service, which pleases Lord Krishna and destroys all sufferings.

Within the heart of a person overpowered by lamentation or anger, there is no possibility of Krishna being manifest.

Devotees whose tongues are decorated always with prayers to Lord Krishna are always given respect even by the great saintly persons and sages, and such devotees are actually worshipable by the demigods.
Effect of Giving Up Sinful Desires
When a person completely gives up all the sinful desires he is harboring in his heart, he exchanges mortality for eternal spiritual life and attains real pleasure in the Absolute Truth.
