Doing Things With The Right Purpose

The question we have to ask is not whether something is difficult or not, but rather whether it is right or not. If something is right, we should be willing to do anything and give everything for that purpose.

Ideal teacher

Lord Chaitanya said that a teacher should behave properly before he begins teaching.  One who teaches in that way is called Acharya, or the ideal teacher.  Therefore, a teacher must follow the principles of Shastra (Scripture) to teach the common man.  The teacher cannot manufacture rules against the principles of revealed scriptures.

Importance of People

The tragedy of the world is that generally people do not recognize how important and loved someone is until they die. As we are so preoccupied and so distracted by so many so-called important things.

What Are You Missing?

Think about all that is being missed in our Krishna Conscious life just because we adhere to the one impurity called sexual impurity. Or conversely, think about what we could do more in Krishna Consciousness when we get rid of this impurity. We would be more enthusiastic and less offensive. We become angry & offensive when our desires are not fulfilled.

Upavasa (Fasting)

By mere refraining from food, Upavasa is not done. Upavasa means close to the Lord. This is called upavasa . Vasa or Nivasa means place of stay or place to reside. So Nivasa with Krishna is upavasa. Stay close to the Lord. That is real upavasa.
